Blackheads are small black bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles and is technically a type of acne. Blackheads are dilated pores filled with keratin, or dead skin cells. These black projections are often found on the face especially on nose and sometimes on the back. Each pore on your skin contains a hair follicle and a sebaceous (oil) gland. This sebaceous gland produces sebum, an oily substance that helps keep the skin hydrated and soft. An excess of sebum production can result in a plug at the top of the pore. When these pores are plugged, the dead skin cells in the open pores react with oxygen in the air and turns black, forming a blackhead. The main causes that lead to blackheads are: Hormones, Puberty, Menstruation, Birth Control Pills, Pregnancy, Sweating, Diet, Smoking, Unclean skin, Stress, Alcohol and Caffeine.
Here are the natural ways to clean the pores and remove blackheads using some easily available ingredients.
